C-S 341 - Software Engineering
Guidelines for presentation
- All team members must be there to present the project.
- All team members must present (talk). This gives an equal
opportunity for everyone in the team to participate in the presentation.
- You are given 15 minutes for your presentation, and that includes
question period.
- As a courtesy, introduce team members to the class.
- Present only highlights of your project such as assumptions,
design decisions and your approach to implementation. You can
talk about the language and platform that you have chosen, why you
selected them, how far you have progressed in your project etc.
- I would also like to hear from each team about group working,
how you feel working in this group, pros and cons, etc. Since team
working is an important factor in Software Engineering, it is nice if
you can say a few words about your group.
- Avoid showing code and pseudocode; instead, show the GUI
and walk through an execution scenario.
- Use transparencies or slides for your presentation; avoid talking
straight to the audience.
- Please submit a signature page indicating that all members
agree to share the mark given for this assignment.
- As a courtesy to other teams, please attend all other
sessions and ask questions, if any.
- Mark for the presentation assignment depends on (i) the contents of
your presentation (how much information you give; particularly
whether you give enough information so that others can grasp what
your approach is), (ii) your presentation style (includes slides and
other materials that you show and your style of talk), and (iii) how
well you answer the questions.
Any questions or concerns regarding presentations should be directed
to the instructor.
